Tira modd™ Product Overview

Tira modd is the mobile device database from Tira Wireless. It is the reliable, comprehensive and open device database that tracks over 1,000 device attributes for 1,257 devices from 54 handset manufacturers across 221 operators/channels in 4 geographic regions around the world. And it is constantly growing. Tira modd is the result of over six years of work from the mobile pioneers at Tira Wireless. It is the cornerstone of Tira Wireless’ products and is now available as a standalone product for mobile content providers everywhere.

The Right Version for You

Tira modd is available in three versions depending upon your requirements:

• Standard Edition. This version is available as a downloadable client with advanced custom query and data export capabilities. Want to know what which mobile operator's handsets support Bluetooth? The advanced features of the local client are available for a monthly subscription fee.
• Enterprise Edition. The Enterprise Edition includes an Open API for developers to programmatically access device attributes. This version gives customers the ultimate flexibility in customizing the device data to their specific needs. An OEM version of the Enterprise Edition includes the right to re-distribute the device database.
• Go Mobile Edition. This freely available, web-based version of the database resides at the Tira Go Mobile Community developer portal. Want to know the attributes of any given device? Simply register for the Go Mobile Community (it's free!) and access the database as much as you like.

Device Profilers

Downloadable device profilers are used by the Tira Wireless device team, as well as the broader community, to profile new handsets. The profiling process consists of three steps:

• Step 1: Entering handset information and other information that cannot be automatically determine by the on-device profilers. This includes information about the handset manufacturer, model, physical characteristics as well as mobile operator and regional support.
• Step 2: Base profiling is performed by a downloadable application which is loaded onto the handset and executes a series of automatic and semi-automatic tests with user feedback. Based on the results, a secondary profiling application is automatically generated.
• Step: The secondary profiling application is downloaded to the handset and performs more detailed tests based on the results of the base profiler. This information can include special tests performed to determine how the device may support an optional API that was identified in the initial profiling.
